Every small act of kindness creates a ripple of positive change.

Apna Ghar provides critical, comprehensive services to survivors of gender-based violence, with a focus on immigrant, refugee, and marginalized communities. Their model supports the whole person – offering emergency shelter, counseling, legal advocacy, case management, and long-term healing pathways that empower survivors to rebuild safety and independence.

How we work

We collaborate with local communities, volunteers, and donors to achieve our goal of making a meaningful impact on people's lives. Our non-profit organization strives to make a positive difference in society by supporting those in need.

Proofing our impact

We are committed to transparency and accountability which is why we regularly share our impact reports with our donors. Our non-profit organization's work is evidence-based, and we consistently strive to improve our impact through innovative solutions.

At Ignite Asha, selecting the right beneficiary is at the heart of our mission—and we don’t take that responsibility lightly. Each year, our Beneficiary Co-Chairs lead a rigorous selection process that begins with a detailed application and vetting procedure. With the support of our Beneficiary Outreach team, we conduct in-person site visits to assess the organization’s leadership, transparency, impact, and alignment with our mission. It’s an intensive, thoughtful process grounded in integrity and designed to ensure we’re partnering with nonprofits that are ready to grow and create meaningful, lasting change.Once selected, our commitment doesn’t end with a check. We offer multi-year grants—typically over four to five years—ensuring sustained support and stability for the nonprofit. Throughout this partnership, we maintain ongoing communication and financial transparency. We track where every dollar goes, measure impact along the way, and work closely with our partners to maximize the effectiveness of our donors’ contributions. It’s not just about funding a cause—it’s about fueling transformation with accountability and trust at every step.
Ignite Asha's Support During Covid

During the COVID-19 pandemic, Apna Ghar saw a significant rise in domestic violence cases as isolation, financial insecurity, and limited access to services made already vulnerable individuals even more at risk.

Ignite Asha’s partnership during the virtual gala year directly strengthened Apna Ghar’s ability to reach survivors at a time of urgent need.

Together, Apna Ghar and Ignite Asha ensured that survivors—especially women facing isolation and danger—continued to receive life-saving support when they needed it most.
